Shake Shack Is Introducing 3 New Burgers And Special Fries

As summer’s BBQ season fades, Shake Shack is gearing up to welcome fall by bringing back some fan-favorite flavors. This time, the popular fast-casual burger chain is reintroducing its much-loved Black Truffle Menu, which now boasts three delicious burgers and loaded fries. Customers can access these indulgent new items through the Shake Shack app starting September 10, with locations across the U.S. offering them from September 13.

One of the stars of the menu is the Black Truffle Burger, coming in at 700 calories per single burger. It’s a savory delight featuring a 100% Angus beef patty, Gruyere cheese, and black truffle sauce made with real black truffle oil. Adding to the flavor explosion are crispy sweet onions, which the chain has updated by using Vidalia onions that are slightly pickled with vinegar and sugar before being fried. All of this is served on a toasted potato bun, making it an umami-packed treat.

For those seeking a vegetarian option, Shake Shack has something equally tempting: the Black Truffle ‘Shroom Burger. This 600-calorie offering is built around a crispy fried portobello mushroom filled with gooey muenster and cheddar cheeses. Like its meaty counterpart, it’s topped with black truffle sauce and shredded lettuce, all sandwiched between a toasted potato bun. It’s a rich, satisfying option for plant-based burger fans.

If you want the best of both worlds, the Black Truffle Shack Stack is the way to go. At 870 calories, it combines the 100% Angus beef patty and Gruyere cheese with a crispy fried portobello mushroom filled with melted muenster and cheddar cheeses. Of course, it’s topped off with the signature black truffle sauce, making it a hearty, flavor-packed option for truffle lovers.

No burger is complete without a side of fries, and Shake Shack delivers here too with their Black Truffle Parmesan Fries. These 800-calorie fries are dusted with parmesan cheese and come with a side of black truffle sauce for dipping, offering the perfect complement to the truffle-infused burgers.

Shake Shack’s collaboration with Italian olive oil brand Bartolini Emilio plays a key role in making these menu items so special. The black truffle sauce was crafted in partnership with Bartolini Emilio, ensuring the authentic taste of real black truffle oil elevates each bite.

While the Black Truffle Menu made its debut in 2020, it was initially only available at select locations in New York City and Los Angeles. By October 2021, the chain expanded the menu nationwide, though it only featured the Black Truffle Burger and Parmesan Garlic Fries with Black Truffle Sauce at the time.

To pair with this indulgent menu, Shake Shack has teamed up with New York City-based Talea Beer Co. to offer a special brew designed to complement the rich, earthy flavors of black truffle. The Talea Black Truffle Lager is brewed with real black truffles and porcini mushrooms, but it will only be available in 16-ounce cans at select Shake Shack locations in New York City.

John Karangis, executive chef and vice president of culinary innovation at Shake Shack, expressed excitement about the return of the Black Truffle Menu, saying it celebrates the black truffle in a way that’s both luxurious and approachable. According to Karangis, the menu highlights premium ingredients while elevating the overall guest experience, making it a perfect example of tradition meeting innovation.
