Let’s get baking!
Ingredients
- 3 c. all-purpose flour
- 2 Tbsp. baking powder
- 1/4 tsp. kosher salt
- 3/4 c. (1 1/2) sticks butter, cold, cut into pieces, plus 1/2 c. (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened
- 1 3/4 c. whole milk
- 1 1/2 c. shredded sharp cheddar
- 3 tsp. garlic powder, divided
- 1 Tbsp. chopped fresh parsley
Directions
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Flour, baking powder, salt, and three-quarters of a cup of butter should be mixed together in a large bowl using an electric mixer set at a low speed. Gradually increase the speed to medium and continue beating until a dough with lumps the size of peas is formed.
Slowly pour in the milk while beating at a low speed until it is almost completely mixed. Cheese and two tablespoons of garlic powder should be folded in.
Step 2
Put lumps of dough measuring two inches in diameter onto a baking sheet that has been coated with parchment paper.
Step 3
Bake biscuits for 18 to 20 minutes, or until they have a light golden color.
Step 4
In the meantime, melt half a cup of butter in a small bowl that can withstand high temperatures by microwaving it in increments of twenty seconds, stirring it between each increment, until it is completely melted, which should take approximately one minute.
Parsley and the remaining one teaspoon of garlic powder should be stirred in.
Step 5
While the biscuits are still warm, dab the butter mixture over the top of each one.
