Costco Shoppers Are Criticizing This New Deli Meal: 'It's Very Boring'

Every single day, Costco’s deli section offers its customers a large assortment of easily consumed ready-made meals, and it frequently adds new items to the menu to keep things interesting and innovative. Unfortuitously, consumers are already calling the most recent new food unveiled in Costco’s deli area “very meh” and “not good.”

Early this week, a Costco customer came onto a brand-new butter chicken package at a Fremont, California warehouse with naan bread. They then shared the Reddit finding with their fellow Costco members.

Made from chicken cooked in a tomato sauce bursting with butter and spices, butter chicken is one type of curry known as Costco has a variation of the classic Indian lunch with eight pieces of naan bread and a reasonable saucy protein dish. Every box weights around two and a half pounds overall.

Customers have some serious doubts about the newly found deli, and the reviews for it are beginning to pour in. For example, some members expressed their displeasure with the flavor and sensation of the pre-made meals.

One of our clients said, “I am currently eating this with rice made from basmati and it is very meh.”I would expect from one of these kits, the chicken and sauce mix is salted; still, the texture is a little bit soft? I will keep eating at real Indian restaurants or cook my own chicken with a sauce I acquire from the grocery in the future to fulfill my need for butter chicken, despite the huge price for the quantity.

Our dinner was this dish. No, I didn’t like it. The beef was not good, another individual grumbled.

One such customer found great difficulty with the item’s connected price tag. Costco was selling the meal for $5.99 a pound (prices vary), which turns out to be $14 to $16 per butter chicken kit depending on the exact weight of the package in the warehouse where it was found.

“I would not buy this at $5.99 per pound, let alone $5.99 per pound,” a Reddit poster said.

This does not mean, however, that consumers in every single case are giving the butter chicken packaging bad comments. A few patrons have even mentioned their great delight with the taste, quality, and price of the food.

We truly loved it tonight when we had dinner. The sauce had a terrific taste and was really thick and delicious. “The chicken was tender, and the majority of the meat was from the thighs, resulting in me happy,” a Reddit discussion thread user said. “I don’t think it’s an absurd price, but I don’t think it tastes as good as it does,” another added.

The fact that many consumers have already expressed their dislike of the new butter chicken kit suggests that the product is not exactly a smashing success. Anyone who are interested in checking out this controversial new deli dish in spite of the criticism should check directly with their local Costco to find whether or not it is already available because new items often roll out to certain locations before others.
