Costco Introduces a New Bakery Item—However, There is a Caveat

Costco’s bakery keeps customers in constant anticipation of fresh treats. These goodies vary from sweets like cookies and cakes to savory foods like loaves of bread. On the other hand, the most recent baked delight to pique the interest of potential buyers is one you may not have seen at your neighborhood warehouse.

According to a Reddit photo, the wholesaler has lately debuted a new bakery product named Mayorca Suprema. This product comprises of twelve sweet buns topped with fruit, cream cheese, and Danish icing.

One of the buyers exclaimed, “Haven’t seen the sweet rolls posted yet, they are heavenly 10/10,” and mentioned in the conversation that they had purchased the sweet rolls in Maui, Hawaii.

According to consumers, this scrumptious dessert is available for $8.99. On the other hand, it appears that this item is not widely available, as one Reddit member noted that they “haven’t seen anything like this outside of Hawaii.”

The previous month, another Reddit user wrote a similar comment, which read: “Chances of seeing this outside of Hawaii Costco stores is likely zero.”

Additionally, earlier this month, the Mayorca Suprema was discovered at a warehouse in Hawaii Kai, according to the @hawaiicostcofinds social media account, which reports on products available in Costco’s Hawaii locations.

It appears that Costco also sells the Mayorca Suprema in Puerto Rico, which is not surprising considering that the sweet treat looks to be a spin on Puerto Rican pan de mallorcas, or sweet bread rolls. Hawaii is the sole American state that does not sell the Mayorca Suprema.

Around February, a person uploaded an Instagram photo of the item being sold in a warehouse in Puerto Rico.

Costco did not immediately respond to our inquiry about whether this pastry item is just available in Hawaii and Puerto Rico.

Despite the fact that the Mayorca Suprema is only available in limited amounts, customers continue to fall head over heals for the bakery delicacy.

A Reddit user said, “I need this in my life!” about the item.

Another person said, “…jealous.”

Even if you don’t live in Hawaii or Puerto Rico, there are plenty of exciting new bakery items that you may purchase. The warehouse club has lately introduced cinnamon coffee cake. It is finished with butter cinnamon streusel and icing drizzle. Customers have noted that this new dessert sells for $9.99.

In addition, Costco has just reintroduced its caramel tres leches bar cake, which is a sponge cake covered with caramel custard mousse and drizzled with caramel glaze. This perennial favorite sells at $17.99. Pumpkin pie, weighing more than three pounds and costing only $5.99, has also returned to the bakery, which delights regular customers.
