As the weather cools and many fast-food chains roll out fall-themed drinks like pumpkin spice lattes and apple crisp macchiatos, Burger King is taking a different approach. Rather than embracing the cozy flavors of autumn, the fast-food giant is offering a refreshing twist on a summer favorite. The company just launched its Frozen Pink Lemonade, a cool and tangy beverage designed to help customers keep their chill as the seasons change.
With just 140 calories for a medium size, Burger King describes it as “deliciously refreshing and sweet, yet tart.” This frosty drink is available nationwide, but only for a limited time while supplies last.
Burger King is adding even more excitement to the release by teaming up with Paramount and MTV. The Frozen Pink Lemonade will be the official frozen drink of this year’s MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs). According to Pat O’Toole, chief marketing officer at Burger King North America, this marks the fifth consecutive year that the fast-food chain has partnered with Paramount and MTV.
However, it’s the first time the collaboration has inspired a product launch tied to the event. O’Toole shared his enthusiasm in a press release, saying, “We’re excited to be the frozen drink of the VMAs—a drink that’s just as cool and vibrant as the show itself, and I can’t think of a better venue to showcase our new drink for music and BK fans alike.”
To make this launch even more enticing, Burger King is offering several ways for fans to get their hands on the Frozen Pink Lemonade for free. From now until September 11, when the VMAs air, Royal Perks members can claim a free small Frozen Pink Lemonade with any purchase of at least $1 made through the Burger King app. In addition, the fast-food chain will be serving the drink at two special events.
On September 8, attendees of the VMAs Block Party at Domino Park in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, can sample the new beverage between 12 and 5 p.m. Guests will also have the chance to grab an iridescent Burger King crown and take part in a co-branded giveaway with MTV, both available while supplies last. On September 11, the day of the VMAs, Burger King will be handing out free Frozen Pink Lemonades at New York’s UBS Arena during the live awards show.
But that’s not all. During the VMAs broadcast, Burger King and MTV will also debut a 75-second short film inspired by the new drink. The film will feature multi-platinum, Grammy award-winning artist Sean Paul and renowned performers, Les Twins. This collaboration brings an extra layer of excitement to the event, adding a touch of cool, refreshing flair to the evening’s festivities.
While the Frozen Pink Lemonade is stealing the spotlight right now, it’s not the only new addition Burger King has made to its menu recently. In July, the fast-food chain introduced its Fiery Menu, which includes several spicy items to heat things up.
Among the fiery options are the Fiery Strawberry and Sprite, Fiery Mozzarella Fries, Fiery Bacon Whopper, Fiery Chicken Fries, and the Fiery Bacon Royal Crispy Chicken Sandwich. Each of these new items adds a bold kick to Burger King’s lineup, offering a little something for those who prefer their meals on the hotter side.
